Lenzing creates bespoke ‘MyTrainingPal’ app to empower consumer brands with fiber knowledge

To facilitate knowledge sharing in the fashion industry, Lenzing has proudly launched MyTrainingPal, a streamlined, mobile and convenient micro-training program designed to deepen the understanding of Lenzing’s offerings of the TENCEL™ and VEOCEL™ brands.

Overcoming barriers to knowledge sharing, making training easy, fun and efficient

Being a key player at the start of the supply chain, Lenzing is often faced with questions from partners on sourcing, the material production process, the benefits of Lenzing fibers, end-of-life disposal options, and more. Given the complex nature of the value chain involved in the lifecycle of a consumer product, conventional training can be time consuming and restrictive. With Lenzing fibers reaching retailers across the globe, it is not always feasible for customer facing staff of brands and retailers to attend in-person or online knowledge sharing sessions. This creates a situation where the onus is often placed on the consumer to find out more about the product they purchased, driven only by their personal interest.

“The ‘MyTrainingPal’ app simplifies and facilitates the learning process, making traditional training less strenuous and monotonous for users. The content is especially curated to help bridge the last mile in the customer journey, equipping customer-facing retail staff with the knowledge to accurately answer questions and convey relevant information to end-users about Lenzing’s fiber offerings. In turn, this will enable customers feel fully reassured that they are making both informed and conscious choices with ease,” said Vernon Yeo, Director for Global Cobranding & Retail Marketing for Lenzing.

High customizability for tailored brand content

The program contains three main sections and can be personalized and modified based on the needs of each individual brand or retailer. The first section houses Lenzing-related lessons on fiber knowledge, the second is section is for brand partners content and the final section can house a selection of third-party courses focused on upskilling. The Lenzing-related lessons in the program will share with participants about the origins of Lenzing fibers, how they are made, their positive impact on the environment, the innovative features that create physical property benefits in the final materials, and more delivered in bite-size, simple and fun ways.

Unique interactive features to facilitate engagement

The app can also notify users via the app or on email when their organization introduces new brand or retailer-specific developments or products. Users from the same company can also discuss the lessons within the app using Chatroom, a closed group messaging function. Additionally, the rewards system in the app honors users with ‘stars’, a virtual currency built into the platform that is earned through successful course completion and other activities, that they can then exchange for a chance to win prizes.

The ultimate goal of the MyTrainingPal is to actively engage participants to empower them with the knowledge and understanding to convey factual information on Lenzing’s sustainability benefits to customers that may otherwise not be aware, boosting their ability to sway customer decision-making in their favor and help make better, more sustainable lifestyle choices more achievable.
