Announcing: Salon de la Circularité, a Laurence Carr original design for high point market's sustainability stories

Laurence Carr is honored to be one of three designers debuting an exclusive vignette installation at High Point Market in North Carolina for their Sustainability Stories activation at Center Stage this week.

These vignette displays are an immersive, inspirational event exploring our industry’s embrace of sustainability, highlighting sustainable and circular products from High Point designers, makers, and manufacturers.

As part of her original design, “Salon de la Circularité,” for this event, Laurence Carr is proud to present an exclusive collaboration between three manufacturers pioneering innovative circular methods in the furnishings industry. She has brought together Cisco Home, Libeco, and TENCEL™ to create a uniquely circular sofa and armchair combination that boasts a near zero-waste completion process.

The Richard Sofa and Armchair from Cisco Home are crafted from FSC-certified wood; the sofa fill uses TENCEL™ branded lyocell fibers manufactured in a unique closed-loop process, and upholstered in Libeco’s highly-renewable, zero-waste Belgian flax linen.

Thanks to each brand’s numerous sustainability and waste-management initiatives, along with their many combined certifications with organizations like the SFC, FSC, GOTS, OEKO-TEX, SAC, and many more, this is a first-of-its-kind offering in regeneratively designed luxury seating.

Laurence is also incredibly proud to introduce the Laurence Carr x Nature’s Legacy vessel collection, created using Cradle to Cradle certified® materials, that will be exclusively debuted as part of this activation and will become available for purchase in 2022.

“Sustainability goes beyond our approach to the environment, it also relates to how we organize our schedule, our spaces, and our priorities. The energy of a space has the power to relax, soothe, excite, exhilarate, and beyond. These physical and emotional reactions contribute to our overall sense of health and wellbeing. But energy, aesthetics, and comfort lack meaning without a conscience. My design, “Salon de la Circularité,” blends beauty, function, and circular design practices to create a sanctuary that honors the colors, textures, marine life, and serenity found in our oceans.” – Laurence Carr

To complement these pieces, Laurence carefully selected partners with progressive eco-conscious approaches to feature in the design, such as Phillips Collection, Mill Collective, Kymo, and Currey and Co.

If you happen to be at High Point Market, be sure to stop by the Sustainability Stories activation at Center Stage, near the Transportation Terminal, and visit Laurence’s vignette. More details can be found here.
